Material of Negev
Ceramic Judaica art pieces by Daniel Nahoum, one of Israel's best known Ceramic Artists
There are not many people left like Daniel Nahoum. An idealist with no compromises.
No compromises when he joined the "Brigata Garibaldi" to fighting the Nazis in the Italian Alps together with his brother Isacco, a senior commander in the brigade. An idealist when he dedicated himself totally to the building of Israel and to realizing the Zionist dream.
No compromises in art either, when he decided that, in order to produce the “real thing”, he had to personally process by himself all his working materials, grinding the earth of the Negev desert just as people used to do thousands of years ago.
That is why Material of Negev are the words embedded, along with the artist’s signature, on the back of each of Daniel’s ceramic Judaica creations on sale through this site.
The products presented here are not to be taken for granted, as, believe us, we have been very lucky in convincing Daniel to develop this small line of Judaica ceramic Hamsas, especially for our web site. At his advanced respectable age, Daniel still works alone in his Ruhama workshop. There he will accurately grind, knead, form, mark, paint and then burn any ceramic art piece you pick up from the models presented below. Finally, he will pack it carefully and ship it to you. |
