Exhibitions & prizes
1925 - Daniel Nahoum was born in Milan, Italy, on July 24th
1959 - Exhibited oil pantings at the General Exhibition of Israeli Artists at the Dizingoff Museum in Tel Aviv.
1964 - Exhibited “Samson and Delilah”, a ceramic relief on a biblical theme, at the “Yarid Hamizrach” Fair. The relief was assembled from 70 units which yelded an overall size of about 40 square feet.
1965 - Awarded first prize by Beer Sheva municipality for two of his works: “Drunkards of the Bible” and “The Tales of Samson”.
1968 - Awarded second prize at the 26th International Artistic Ceramics Competition held in Faenza (Faience), Italy. The prize-winning work is on permanent exhibition in the Faenza Museum as a landmark of modern ceramics.
1968/9 - Created a wall relief which decorates the lobby of the Ivoire Hotel in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. The relief consists of a number of monumental elements covering a total of 165 square feet.
1970/1 - Established the Faculty of Ceramic Arts at the National School of Fine Arts in Abidjan.
1974 - Was invited by Mrs. Ruth Dayan to participate in her book Crafts of Israel.
1976 - Awarded fourth prize at the International Competition of Sculpture in Terra Cotta for a park in Florence, Italy.
1981 - Held an exhibition at “Maskit” in Tel Aviv.
1983 - Was invited to show his works in a documentary exhibition in Aosta, Italy. Subject of the exhibition: “Anti-fascist Resistance and the Struggle for Liberation in the Visual Arts”.
1984/5 - Was invited to participate and show in exhibitions in Germany and Brazil.
1986 - Was nvited by the International Academy for Ceramic Arts of Castelli, Italy, to create a wall relief on-site together with the pupils and to submit plans for a series of lectures on Ceramics. Was also invited to Bern, Switzerland, to create a wall relief there.
Today, Daniel Nahoum's ceramic murals can be found in many public and private buildings in New York, Brazil, Ivory Coast, Italy, Germany and Switzerland. In Israel Daniel's works can be seen at the following public sites:
M.I.Ch.A. Ramat Aviv, Tel Aviv: outer wall (the M.I.Ch.A. organization's emblem) and at the entrance to the building.
Migdal Daniel Hotel in Hertzliya Pituach: Entrance to the cafeteria.
Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council: The map of the region in the board room and an outer wall of the "Haduchan" supermarket.
Hakibbutz Ha'artzi center in Leonardo da Vinci St., Tel Aviv: the restaurant.
Kibbutz Ruhama, outer wall of the club, "Drunkards of the Bible".
