My name is Orly Rabinowitz. I live on a little village called Har Halutz ("Mountain of the Pioneers") in the Western Galilee, together with my husband and three children. Har Halutz is a pluralistic community related to the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism which has been established in 1985 by a group of new immigrants from the USA with close links to the World Union for Progressive Judaism.

I am a teacher at the Tefen Experimental School located in the nearby beautiful Tefen Industrial Park. The school, for children aged three to eighteen (my own included), emphasizes personal development, involvement in the community and real interpersonal communication.
In my free time I create in polymer clay, a flexible plastic material available in a variety of colors that hardens when baked in the oven. My pieces come in a multitude of colors and forms and are light, tough and water-resistant.

The technique I use is called Millefiori (“thousand flowers”) and its origin lies in the Venetian glass industry. The "Millefiori" technique dates back to the Alexandrian and Roman ages and was recovered during the Middle Ages by the glass masters of Murano (the little island next to Venice).
This technique utilizes the incorporation of complex patterns into different types of pieces without the use of painting or drawing.

My bracelets are a combination of polymer, glass and metal beads in harmonious color combinations. The beads are strung onto elastic silicone thread allowing for a comfortable fit. Every piece is of course hand-made and therefore unique. No two are alike.
The Lady and Hamsa magnets, playful and humorous, will decorate any refrigerator. The magnets are covered with two layers of lacquer and fitted with a strong magnet for a perfect finish.
